Costa Rican coffee typically has a bright acidity and clean, vibrant flavors with hints of citrus or tropical fruits. Meanwhile, Sumatra coffee is known for its earthy, full-bodied profile with low acidity, often featuring notes of dark chocolate, spices, and sometimes even a bit of herbal quality.

When you blend them, you get a nice balance: the brightness and clarity of the Costa Rican coffee complements the deep, earthy richness of the Sumatra. The result is usually a complex, well-rounded cup with a nice balance of acidity and body. It can be really delicious! And you can also play around with different ratios to see what kind of balance you like best. Sometimes a 50/50 blend works well, or you can adjust it to have more Costa Rican for brightness or more Sumatra for that earthy depth. It’s definitely fun experimenting!
